Cyberateos: at the end could not be 
Podía haber llegado a ser algo bonito, pero al final las pasiones humanas se impusieron.
Los que me conoceis sabéis que desde hace 9 años pertenezco a Cyberateos, una comunidad atea en Internet, de las más antiguas de habla hispana.
Además esta comunidad llevaba a cabo un experimento interesante de democracia virtual, en la que en lugar de un administrador con poder absoluto se intentó crear un espacio democrático en el que los miembros (ciudadanos) formaban una asamblea soberana y elegían moderadores con votaciones periódicas.
La cosa funcionó con sus más y sus menos, con sus reformas legislativas y sus eventuales crisis, but it was entertaining and educational to see the disputes and discussions of power in an environment where no one can find elements such as money or risk the personal security.
However in the end, as in the famous novel by Golding, phobias and children's fears, and even the savagery, they ruin the idyllic outlook. The group's founder, Carlos, accumulated in his person the offices of moderator, judge and critic, gave a coup and ousted all the dissidents (who were almost all of the arguing and participated in the assembly), accusing them want to turn to a coup. And what is worse, accusing the then president, Emilio, wanting to stay with dues money, when he only expected a new president legitimate, to turn the money (which he did before the first indictment) and the computer powers (which were taken away by force).
But we must not sadden by it. Atheist communities there are many and varied (
Ciberateos ,
CafeAteo , etc.), And I think this final act (for me) may be an important lesson last human experiment, though perhaps not very hopeful lesson.
