La ley 1065 sancionada en 2003 por parte de la Legislatura de la Ciudad Buenos Aires, established April 26 as the Day of the Barrio de Villa Ortúzar. This is a remembrance of the date on which Santiago de Ortúzar bought the land forming the existing neighborhood. industrial zone in its origins, experienced a marked growth in the first decades of the twentieth century. Had one of the most important undertakings of the period, the textile company SUDAMTEX which came to employing over 2000 people. The district has two well-defined areas: From the Incas to Pampa with mansions, important buildings and embassies. Los Incas to El Cano is an area of \u200b\u200blow houses, more tied to the origin of Villa Ortúzar where it is common to see neighbors on the sidewalk drinking mate. Some of the sites that are part of history the district are San Roque Parish, the Parish of San Fermin, the school Mariano Acha, the Sporting Club, the tree in the Plaza Artigas August 25 offered up by the Uruguayan community, the Eight Corners Bar, the cafe of the Incas, the Pizzeria La Mezzeta.
